About Us |
|
Sarah grew up on a working Sandhills cow/calf operation where horses were an integral part to getting the job done. Growing up in that environment has embedded her with a desire for a partnership between animal and rider in order to complete tasks and accomplish specific goals. Sarah was first exposed to longears when she and her family rode the famous Grand Canyon mules. As with most mule enthusiasts, she quickly appreciated all the desirable traits of these amazing animals and was determined to include mules in her life from thereon. She quickly purchased a mule of her own, started using her on the ranch and, as they say, the rest is history. Sarah continued to develop her own style of horsemanship while managing the horse program at an upscale guest ranch in Colorado for five years. She believes in the tried and true methods that began with the Dorrance brothers and have become known today as “natural horsemanship”. With this base, she continually strives to find ways to bring out the best qualities of a horse or mule while allowing them the freedom to be an active participant in the partnership. To develop the skills necessary for the trail, show ring, or ranch, Sarah uses different approaches, including the round pen, ground work, suppling exercises, and real ranch work. After the birth of their son, Emmett, Sarah and her husband Mark moved back to the Nebraska Sandhills where they are now dedicated to producing outstanding mules, providing honest and gentle horses, as well as offering natural horsemanship training.
We always keep our eye out for gentle, reliable horses as well as have some that we have trained ourselves. If you are looking for something in particular or need help finding the right horse or mule let us know. Keep in mind, we are not horse traders. The horses we find we ride and use and only offer them for sale if we feel that they are the right match for the customer.
